University Dance Theatre The University Dance Theatre will present its semi-annual performance event for four performances in May at the Lab School, room 101. This spring’s show is entitled “Furitsuke – Vigorous Movements,” and is a compilation of dance routines choreographed by students enrolled in Dance 115 – University Dance Theatre. This eclectic dance concert will consist of modern, lyrical, jazz, hip-hop, hula and Belly dance styles. Forty-two dance artists will be showcased, exhibiting creativity in choreography, sound and lighting design. The students enrolled in the course work all semester to perfect their pieces and to convey their artistic visions to an audience. All students are responsible for learning material by attending rehearsals throughout each week, in addition to the weekly course with faculty adviser/artistic director Kenneth Balint. The show will run May 12 and May 13 at 8 p.m. and two shows on May 14, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 and are now available at the John Wright Theatre Box Office and online at http://www.csufresno.edu/Theatre/. |
