The following musical events are planned in May:

May 1 – Clendenin Brass Quintet, 7:30 p.m., Wahlberg Recital Hall. Admission:$4 general; $3 students.

May 1 – Gospel Choir, 4 p.m., Concert Hall. Admission: $6 general; $5 faculty/staff/seniors; $4 students.

May 1 – Piano Majors in Concert, 7:30 p.m., Wahlberg Recital Hall. Admission: $4 general; $2 students.

May 2 – Flute Ensemble, 7:30 p.m., Wahlberg Recital Hall. Admission: $6 general; $5 faculty/staff; $4 students/seniors.

May 2 – Fresno State String Orchestra, 8 p.m., Concert Hall. Admission: $8 general; $5 faculty/staff/seniors; $3 students.

May 4 – Women in Jazz - A Special Evening of Music, 7:30 p.m., Concert Hall.

Admission: $6 general. A limited number of free tickets will be available for students prior to the concert.

May 5 – President’s Quintet, 7:30 p.m., Wahlberg Recital Hall. Admission: Free. Seating is limited.


Randolph Lacy

May 7 – The Glories of Venice, The Chamber Singers of California State University, Fresno and the Community Chorus join forces to present some of the most spectacular choral music ever written; 7:30 p.m., Concert Hall. Admission: $7 general; $6  faculty/staff/seniors; $5 students.

May 9 – Symphonic Band, 7:30 p.m., Concert Hall. Admission: $6 general; $5 faculty/staff/seniors; $4 students.

May 11 – Wind Ensemble Concerto Concert, 7:30 p.m., Concert Hall. Admission: $6 general; $5 faculty/staff/seniors; $4 students.

May 13, 14, 15 – ONEBODY  -  A 21st Century Multi-Media Opera, 8 p.m. Satellite Student Union. The College of Arts and Humanities is producing the world premiere of this multi-media opera featuring tenor Randolph Lacy, a lecturer in the Music Department.  For more information, visit www.one-body.org. Admission: $10 general. A limited number of free tickets will be available to students.

May 14 – Saxophone Studio Recital, 7:30 p.m., Wahlberg Recital Hall. Admission: $6 general; $5 faculty/staff; $4 students/seniors.
