Turf Day
 The 34th Annual Turf Day Golf Classic, sponsored by the Ag One Foundation and the College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, will be held Friday,May 6, at the Madera Golf and Country Club, 19297 Road 26 in Madera. more

Rotary grants
The Rotary Foundation and District 5230, which consist of Fresno, Tulare, Kings and Monterey Counties, sponsor a grant program to strengthen higher education in Third World countries. Grant recipients teach at universities and colleges in developing countries, sharing their knowledge and expertise. Subjects taught must have practical use in the host countries where positions are open. more

Fresno State professor Carol Fry Bohlin really gets into math! Her colleagues at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics annual conference voted her the winner of the license plate contest for her “Math2Go” plates. more

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs announced eight new grant awards received March 16-April 5 totaling $1,720,114. more

 A new pilot study abroad program offers a semester studying at the American College of Thessaloniki, Greece. more

President Welty has approved a summer work schedule to be effective Monday, May 23, 2005 through Friday, August 12, 2005. more

Bloom memorial fund
The Department of Communication has set up a memorial fund to honor Vince Bloom and his dedication to student-athletes. more

Provost’s reception
Dr. Jeri Echeverria, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, will host a reception honoring the 2005 Provost’s Awards recipients on Thursday, May 12. more

Back to the '50s
Fresno State’s Parents Association and the Division of Student Affairs will hold a “Back to the 50’s” event Wednesday, May 25, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the University House. more

Emeriti faculty
The following individuals who were awarded emeritus status at the 2004 Commencement will be honored at a luncheon on May 4. more 

Civil War sub exhibit

A replica of the first Civil War era submarine, the H.L. Hunley, will be exhibited in the campus submarine memorial area near the Joyal Administration Building on May 10. more
