Rotary grants for teachers

The Rotary Foundation and District 5230, which consist of Fresno, Tulare, Kings and Monterey Counties, sponsor a grant program to strengthen higher education in Third World countries. Grant recipients teach at universities and colleges in developing countries, sharing their knowledge and expertise. Subjects taught must have practical use in the host countries where positions are open.

Applications to teach overseas during the 2006-07 academic year are being accepted through Sept. 1, 2005.

An information interview can be scheduled with a local Rotary leader through International Programs Office. A list of eligible countries and application form can be found at the following Web site: www.rotary.org/foundation/educational/un_teach/index.html.

For more information, contact Dr.Lucia Hammar in the International Programs Office at 8-6452 or lhammar@csufresno.edu.
