Jumpstart's success depends in large part on our ability to work with early childhood centers. Jumpstart's relationships with program partners are designed to enhance, not supplant, the efforts of local early childhood centers. Teams of five to seven Corps members are placed in each classrom, along with a Team Leader. They work closely to develop and implement Jumpstart sessions during the 3 hours, twice a week that they devote to their Jumpstart children.
This year, Jumpstart Fresno is excited about expanding it's program to meet the need in our community. We will be working closely with six local Head Start centers in Fresno; the Joyce M. Huggins Early Education Center (located on the Fresno State Campus) and Campus Children's Center, also a part of Fresno State Programs for Children.
During the 2006-2007 academic year, Jumpstart Fresno is working closely with eight local early childhood education centers. We have had much success with these sites and look forward to continuing our partnerships and supporting children in the Fresno community.
