The San Joaquin River Parkway's Respite By the River:

Come enjoy a relaxing evening surrounded by the lush atmosphere of the San Joaquin River Parkway's River Center, and hear stories about the Central San Joaquin Valley with the Respite By the River. This summer long series of readings of works by local authors showcases the rich literary traditions of the Valley and the unique place that we call home. Bring a picinc dinner and enjoy live music beginning at 6:00 PM, the readings begin at 7:00 PM with a book signing and refreshments at 8:00 PM. The events take place at the River Center, located at 11605 Old Friant Road, just minutes north of Woodward Park. The Fresno Arts Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching people's lives through the arts. The Arts Council sponsors ArtHop, a free bi-monthly event where studios, galleries and museum across Fresno open their doors foor art exhibits and recpetions. Art Hop is one of Fresno's top cultural and social activities. Art Hop now takes place twice a month for different Fresno area locations.
1st Thursday of each month - Downtown and Tower District area venues,
3rd Thursday of each month - venues in the rest of the Fresno metro area.
