"All Things Armenian" Saturdays: noon - 1:00

All Things Armenian is a weekly, 1 hour long cultural arts and information program produced by KFSR and the Armenian Studies Program at Fresno State. The program airs on Saturdays from noon till 1 o'clock, immediately following the Hye Oozh program. Hosted by Prof. Barlow Der Mugrdechian, the program features interviews with noted Armenian guests, as well as music by Armenian composers and musicians.  All Things Armenian also features Armenian news from around the world, as well as local news and events.

This week our guest is Dan Janjigian, a member of the Armenian Olympic Bobsled team. You may recall their performance in the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. We'll also feature music by the Serenade Chamber Orchestra.

This week our guest is Edele Hovnanian, founder of a new group, known as Birthright Armenia. This group is dedicated to strengthening the ties between the homeland and diasporan youth. We'll also feature choral music by the Hamazkayin Choir, conducted by Vatsche Barsoumian.

Program #27 - 05/01/14 -  Remembering the Armenian Genocide 

This week, All Things Armenian remembers the 88th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide of April 24th, 1915 with a speech given last week by Barlow Der Mugrdechian in San Francisco. We'll also feature music by Armenian artists including Loris Tjeknavorian and Jean Ter-Merguerian.

Program #26 - 04/24/04 -  Guests: State Senator Charles Poochigian

This week, All Things Armenian remembers the 88th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide of April 24th, 1915. In addition to special musical selections by Komitas and others, this week's program will feature a speech given by California State Senator Charles Poochigian about the Genocide at Fresno State on Friday April 23rd, 2004.

We will also feature an interview with Dr. George Bournoutian, professor of Middle Eastern and East European History at Iona College of New York.

The debut edition of All Things Armenian focuses on noted Armenian composer Aram Khatchatourian. The program includes performances of some of his most famous works, including the Sabre Dance from the Gayane Ballet, as well as an interview with pianist and world renowned Khatchatourian expert Sahan Arzuni.
