Hi everyone, I'm Tatevik Ekezian of the Hye Oozh Show.(Hye Oozh Ishkhanoohee) I was born in Yerevan, Armenia. My family moved to Fresno in 1990. I grew up in Fresno and we're all like one big FAMILY here. I started out at the Armenian Community School of Fresno, and then became active in the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church Choir, Youth Group, and Sunday School. After presiding over the Armenian Club at Hoover High for 3 years, I started Fresno State, and became actively involved with the Armenian Studies Program, Armenian Students Organization, and the Hye Sharzhoom Newspaper.
A little about my former co-hosts Sevag, Armen, Shoushan and Jenya are wonderful friends and people. I hold them dear to my heart. A special thank you to them and their families.
From playing Nardi (Tavloo) in the studio, to interviewing stars Joseph Krikorian, Maxim, Paul Jr, John and Barbara Chookasian, Sona Avakian, and others, dancing shoorj par, giving away free tickets, to the more serious things, the Hye Oozh Show is lots of fun. To DJ is not an easy task, but it has its rewards. Its very exciting to know that Armenians from all around the world listen to us. Â A big thanks to my family and friends who have supported me, love you guys!
A special THANK YOU to the management at 90.7 KFSR! Smooth Operators! A SPECIAL THANKS to Joe Moore. To Barlow Der Mugrdechian, you have dedicated your life to the Armenian Community. Your help, support and guidance is truly appreciated.
To all the Businesses who have donated and helped support Hye Oozh, thank you! TO ALL OUR OLD AND NEW LISTENERS AND FANS, WE APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT. THIS SHOW IS FOR YOU!
Tune in to the Hye Oozh every Saturday morning or on the internet and enjoy Armenian music over the radio airwaves! Send your emails to HYERADIO907@YAHOO.COM!

Shoushan Kahkejian

Hey everyone, my name is Shoushan and I am one of the hye oozh hyeoohees! I was born on October 22, 1984 in Amman, Jordan where I lived until I was almost two. My mom is from Jordan, while my dad is from Syria. We moved out to the states and lived in Pasadena, where my younger sister was born, until 1994 when we got to move to...FRESNO!!! I have lived here ever since and currently attend California State University Fresno as an English major. What do I want to do with that? Teach high school English of course!
I have grown up here for most of my life and have seen this city go through some huge changes. What Fresno was in 1994 is definitely not what it is now. The population and the city itself have grown and progressed! Since I have lived here I have been involved in the Armenian community, whether it was in the youth group at Holy Trinity, or in Homenetmen scouting and athletics. Homenetmen especially has taught me so much and given me life lessons I know I'll take with me wherever I go. It has given me the opportunity to grow and appreciate my culture more than I ever thought possible.
Though I have only been part of the Hye Oozh experience for only a short while, I have loved every moment of it (minus the waking up early)! I look forward to the future and hope to be able to fill in the shoes of the ones before us.
A big, big thank you to Fresno State and the station management for giving us this opportunity to have an Armenian radio program on the FM airwaves. And of course an even bigger thank you to all of you who have supported us throughout the years, and continue to support us. If we can make your Saturday morning more enjoyable, then we have done our job!
Much Love,
Shoushan
Janya Bakarian
Hey there! My name is Janya Bakarian, and I guess the purpose of this bio is to give you, the listeners, a little information about myself. Hmm, where do I start from? Well, I’m an original Fresnan, born and raised in the one and only Fresno, Ca. I began here at 90.7 KFSR with my fellow hyeoohees only a few months ago and enjoy almost every moment of it. Originally my family is from haleb/beruit, my dad was born in Haleb yet raised in Beirut, and my mom is from Beirut. I've been attending Fresno State since Fall of 2003 with a major in Criminology. I plan on attending law school after college; following the footsteps of our Original Sevag T. Thanks to Sevag, Im on the radio show now. Being Armenian is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Our culture, our history, and our beautiful language is sooooo irreplaceable, I couldn't ask for anything more. Yes, I know I don't speak much Armenian on the radio, but this is something I'm currently working on, it makes me nervous! Teehee. (It's something I'm trying to get use to). The girls on Hye Oozh are great! I don't mind one bit of spending my Saturday morning's with them. Tatev is a great person and I know I can learn a lot from her. Shoushan and I have experienced a great deal together, whether through our friendship, our dedication to Homenetmen, and our trip to Armenian, and I'm glad this is something we are doing together also. Being involved in Homenetmen and AYF, I've grown to appreciate our Armenian history and am thankful that we are still here together as a race. My long term goals are to return to our motherland, as I believe everybody should. "a People that do not strive to die a noble death, are not worthy of a homeland-as a homeland is created with the sacred ashes of martyr's" -Karekin Njdeh
Thank you 90.7 KFSR for giving us this opportunity with your culture program, to provide our listeners with our beautiful Armenian music. Thank you Joe, for all your help, patience, and dedication. And thank you all, for supporting the radio show and listening to us every Saturday morning.
Always yours,
Janya

Tateosian
I was born in Glendale, CA in
1981 and moved to Fresno in 1992. My parents always encouraged my
brother, my sister and I to speak Armenian in the house and English
outside of the house. They stressed that it was important for us to
know our ancestral language as well as the language of our new land,
which is English. My father was born in Baghdad, Iraq, but his
grandparents were from Zeitun (historic Armenia), which is located
today in Turkey. My mother was born
in Beirut, Lebanon, but her bloodline was traced back to Ani (historic
capital of Armenia), which again is located in Turkey.
I grew up listening to Armenian music and liked it because of its powerful lyrics and beautiful sound. At the age of 17 I became Hye Oozh DJ, thanks to Susie and Nishan, who were the DJ's of the show before me. They are the one's who trained me for the show, and for that I am very thankful. Today, 5 years later, I still have the same passion for Armenian music as I did back when I started.
I would like to thank KFSR Station Manager Joe
Moore for assisting us in getting this show worldwide on the Internet.
I also would like to thank my partners, Armen and Tatev for their
efforts in putting a smile on the face of our listeners. May you all
enjoy the show and please feel free to make comments to us at hyeoozh@cvip.net
Our goal is to provide you with good music
that will make you SMILE!!!
Thank you,
Sevag Tateosian
Armen Postoyan
Hi My Name is Armen Postoyan; I was born on the evening of November 5, 1982, in Hackensack, NJ. At the age of 2 moved to Los Angeles, California, where I attended school at Ferrahian in Encino. As a kid, my parents had always raised me and my 3 other siblings to speak Armenian in the household. At the young age of 4, my father really pushed me and my older brother (Shant Postoyan) in many Armenian youth organizations such as the Homenetmen, Armenian Youth Federation. Also at the age of 5, I first started to play baseball. I continued playing baseball in LA till the age of 10, till my family and I moved to the wonderful Central Valley. My dad wanted us to move to an area in which there was a high population of Armenians, so we would not forget our culture and heritage. As a kid, I have always liked into acting and wanted to see what it would be like to be on air. Listening to Suzie and Nishan, the previous DJ's before Sevag, I had always dreamed of being on the radio. With my dream of being on the radio and my love for Armenian Music, it was a match made in heaven when Sevag, asked me to be part of the Hye Oozh show. Now I am in my 3rd year on the Hye Oozh show and Sevag, Datev, and I, bring humor and wonderful Armenian Music to light up the faces of the Armenian People all over the world every Saturday Morning from 9-12.
I want to thank the KFSR Management, for dedicating us the 3 hours
every Saturday to play wonderful Armenian Music, and also want to thank
my parents, for raising me in the Armenian Community, and want to thank
all of our friends, who have encouraged Sevag, Datev, and I on a weekly
basis. I want to also thank all the listeners, because without you we
wouldn’t have this opportunity.
Thanks,
Armen Postoyan
