The Pulse is a business show that's about more than dollars and cents. Each week The Pulse brings important community guests to the air to talk about issues that matter to our region, from the economy and jobs, to education and government. You'll hear from local business and civic leaders, young entrepreneurs, government officials and more. Join us each week as we take "the pulse" of the region. The Pulse is hosted by Dr. Tim Stearns of the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Fresno State, and Tammy Sears of On-Site Computer Training. The program airs Saturdays at noon and Sundays at 9:00am on 90.7 KFSR and online via podcast and streaming audio on demand. 2009 Program Archives... 2008 Program Archives...

Robert Wample, former chair of the Viticulture and Enology Department at Fresno State, and an entrepreneur. His firm, Soil and Topography Information [STI], has developed technology which allows farmers to generate 3-D data mapping about the quality of their soils. STI was the winner of the recent Central Valley Venture Forum event. STI's technology has the ability to increase yields and uniformity of crops, including wine grapes, Dr. Wample's specialty. We'll also talk about the San Joaquin Valley's emergence as a region known for its high quality wines, the programs at Fresno State and more.
