Portland, Ore., singer/songwriter Rob Bonds, also known as Highway, visited 90.7 KFSR in December 2009 for an in-studio interview with DJ Prof on Evening Eclectic. Members of Highway's traveling band have played with the likes of Elliott Smith and the Dandy Warhols, and his full-length album Black Letters Home will be released in 2010. In these excerpts, Highway plays live versions of his song "1973" and an untitled new track.
The New York folk/soul duo Golden Ghost visited the 90.7 KFSR studio in December 2009 for an Evening Eclectic interview with Jefferson Beavers, in support of the band's second full-length album, The Unimaginative Body, out on Epiphysis Recordings. Singer/songwriter Laura Goetz and multi-instrumentalist Brendon Massei have collaborated with artists from Deer Tick to Devendra Banhart. Fresno singer/songwriter Luke Giffen and drummer Eli Reyes, known as the band Quiet Americans, stopped by the 90.7 KFSR studio in November 2009 for an interview on Evening Eclectic with Jefferson Beavers. Giffen is also the lead singer of the Fresno band Sleepover Disaster, while Reyes plays in both the Fresno bands Rademacher and the Fay Wrays. Visalia's The Whiskey and Devil Chaplain stopped by the 90.7 KFSR studios in November for rowdy live set and interview with Evening Eclectic host M. Garcia. The Whiskey and Devil Chaplain are a wonderful mix of indie roots and folk. Formed at the latter end of 2007, the band has played with groups like The Truth & Salvage Co. out of Los Angeles, Ben Hernandez and Nathan James from San Diego and Dark Meat/Vomit Lasers Family Band (Vice Records) out of Georgia just to name a few. Fresno rock band Rademacher will self-release its sixth EP, Bellyflop, early this fall. In advance of the EP's release and in between tour stops all over California, singer Malcolm Sosa and guitarist Jonathan Hadden visited the 90.7 KFSR studio in July 2009 for an interview with Jefferson Beavers on the Evening Eclectic. In these excerpts, Malcolm picks up his ukulele and plays exclusive in-studio versions of the Rademacher songs "If U Know" and "Argument."
