The Brazilian Hour w/ Sergio Mielniczenko
Saturdays at 6:00am on 90.7 KFSR
Written and produced by Sergio Mielniczenko, The Brazilian Hour takes listeners on a musical tour of its namesake land, with music ranging from jazz to samba, Brazilian pop, choro, and much more. You'll hear artists like Gilberto Gil, Vinicius de Moraes, Trio Mocotó, Toninho Horta, Roberto Menescal, Gal Costa, Milton Nascimento, Eliane Elias, and many more. Produced as a public service of The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, the program began in 1978 to promote Brazilian music and culture in the United States. The program was introduced at radio station KXLU-LA 88.9 FM on March 5th of that year. In 1981 the Brazilian Hour started a national distribution via satellite to all public radio stations in the United States. Currently The Brazilian Hour is produced in Portuguese, Spanish, English and French. Mr. Leonard's Soul Freedom Lounge - Saturdays 8:00pm till 10:00pm
Mr. Leonard has been sharing his knowledge of music throughout the Central Valley for over 10 years. His new program, the "Soul Freedom Lounge" is a weekly, two hour long program centered around an eclectic blend of soul, funk & jazz. The "Soul Freedom Lounge" highlights a diversity of DJs & artists dedicated to the Spirit of music and connected to the movement of deep house, acid jazz, poetry, funk, dancehall and the true essence of soul music. Bluegrass Review on 90.7 KFSR  - Saturdays 7:00am
San Joaquin Valley bluegrass fans have a new place to turn to hear their favorite music on the radio. Bluegrass Review, a nationally syndicated series produced by Phil Nussbaum now airs on 90.7 KFSR every Saturday morning at 7:00am. Producer and host Phil Nussbaum brings a wealth of expertise to the program. He holds a Ph.D. in Folklore from Indiana University, teaches aspiring players and radio producers at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, Minnesota, and has hosted bluegrass program on public radio stations nationwide for many years. The Big Fresno Barn Dance fills the airwaves with an eclectic blend of Texas, western, honky-tonk, old-time country, rockabilly, progressive country, americana and other astounding surprises.
