Living in the San Joquin Valley has many amenities, but unfortunately clean air is not one of them. Fresno and the Valley rank near the top of the list for regions with the dirtiest air in the nation. This program will be the first in a series on the many aspects of the air quality problem, and what can be done about it. Our guest, Judy Case is a member of the Fresno County Board of Supervisors, the Governing Board of the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District, and has just been appointed by the governor to be one of two Valley members on the California Air Resources Board.

Scharton and Autry will debate their different visions for the future of downtown Fresno, including Autry's plan for a lake and river walk project. The first half of the program features an informal debate between the two, moderated by host Jim Tucker. The second half of the program will feature questions posed to the two guests from a live studio audience. Valley Press is produced by Valley Public Television.
