Welcome to the Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership at Fresno State (DPELFS), which is a challenging, yet rewarding, program leading to the doctor of education (Ed.D.) degree. The Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership at Fresno State (DPELFS) provides students the opportunity to learn from and work with talented and knowledgeable faculty from California State University, Fresno. Our Doctoral Program provides educational opportunities to students who want to continue to grow as outstanding educational leaders that can transform schools and colleges. The faculty offer classes that prepare leaders in theory, practice, and research with courses emphasizing practice through the signature pedagogy of “embedded fieldwork” assuring learning relative to current real life educational issues and problems.
The program provides strong support through experienced program facilitators, a writing laboratory and a student cohort model. The DPELFS is a participant in the prestigious Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate, which inspires all schools of education to apply the CPED framework in preparing educational leaders to become well-equipped scholarly practitioners who provide stewardship of the profession and meet the educational challenges of the 21st century under the canopy of a social justice framework. This website should assist you in understanding the components of the program as well as the admissions criteria. We thank you for your interest in our program, and hope you will discover our passion for providing the best educational doctoral program in the nation.
