SI Leaders
Alex Avila, Math 75
I am a Math major, a pre-medical student, and involved in EOP and HCOP. I graduated from McLane High School in 2010. My goal is to attend UC San Francisco Medical School and continue on to become a doctor. I’m also a big sports fan (football, basketball, baseball), enjoy hanging out with my “bros”, and is not afraid to try new things and meet new people.
Maricarmen Martinez, Biolgy 20
I am from Southern California and I am currently a student at Fresno State. I am double majoring in Nursing and Public Health. I am the Supplemental Instructional Leader for Microbiology 20. I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and spending time at the beach.
Derek Peyton, Physics 2A
I'm a graduate working on a ME Master's, and received my Bachelor’s in Physics. I LOVE the subject, and enjoy helping others understand how it applies to just about EVERYTHING around us. You might call me a nerd, but I don't care and am proud of it! I enjoy solving math, physics, and engineering problems in my free time as well as xbox. I get a big kick out of robotics and making little lights blink and motors moving. And........ I REALLY like blueberry muffins.
Erika Varney, Biology 64 & 65
I am a second semester nursing student at Fresno State. I enjoy sleeping, reading, and watching TV shows on Hulu. Anatomy and Physiology are my favorite subjects, thanks to Jennifer Debban, and I’m happy to share my passion for the subjects during SI sessions.
LeighAnn Eloe, Political Science 2
I am a Liberal Studies major. I was raised in Temecula, CA and it is my second year at Fresno State. I like to attend the different sporting events and activities at school. Also, I enjoy going to church on Sundays and I am truly blessed for everything the Lord has given me. In my free time, I hang out with my friends and family and play games. I am looking forward to the New Year and this semester!
Peter Harmon, Math 45
I am a sophomore and my major is Nursing. I took Math 45 a few semesters ago and the past two semesters I have been the SI leader for Professor Kryder's Math 45 classes. At times Math 45 may seem a little bit tricky, but when I took the class I really enjoyed it. I try to have fun putting together the activities for the SI sessions, so I hope you can come and check them out.
