Fresno State Bands |
| Wind Ensemble | Conducted by Dr. Lawrence Sutherland, Director of Bands, the Wind Ensemble is a concert band organization that enrolls the most proficient wind and percussion students on campus. Auditions are held the first week of each semester. |
| Symphonic Band | Conducted by Dr. Gary P. Gilroy, Associate Director of Bands, the Symphonic Band is a concert band that enrolls students from all major fields of study. Auditions are held for part placement only. The band meets during the spring semester only. |
| Jazz Ensembles A and B | Both Jazz A and B bands are jazz lab ensembles with a standard big-band instrumentation. Auditions are held in the first week of each semester. |
| Bulldog Beat (Uptown & Downtown) |
The Bulldog Beat is a jazz/rock/funk/pep public relations band much like those in theme parks. Two-thousand, five hundred dollar scholarships are offered to members of this prestigious group, which performs at community events, women's basketball home games, and most home volleyball games. |
| Fresno State Basketball Band | The Fresno State Basketball Band is a basketball pep band that performs at all Fresno State Bulldog home games. Auditions are held in the middle of the fall semester. |
