24th Annual MESA Banquet CSU Fresno MESA ended it is awesome academic year with a big bang. About three students, staff, and parents celebrated our last event of the year by honoring individuals and acknowledging the graduates. Click here for pictures |

| April 24, 2004 |
UC Santa Barbara MESA Day Over 100 MESA students, 10 staff, and 6 MESA advisors were invited to the annual regional MESA Day at UC Santa Barbara. Due the limitation of budget and resources status. The buses left 4 AM that morning to arrive at UC Santa Barbara at 8:15 AM. MESA Day was successful and full of excitements. Thus, after a long day of competitions the group enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the coast; before we head back to Fresno. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all MESA advisors, staff, volunteers, and students for participating in this event. Even though, this event and the trip were long, 19 hours. Citrus Middle School Monterey Bay Aquarium Field Trip Citrus Middle School MESA took a wonderful field trip to Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey. Students gained great educational experience in the aquarium. Afterward, then students spend some time at the beach before departing back to Fresno Click here for pictures and videos. |

Sunnyside and Roosevelt
High Schools Monterey Bay Aquarium Field Trip Sunnyside and Roosevelt high schools MESA joint efforts to a wonderful field trip to Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey. About 45 students, 4 advisors, and one MESA staff attended the trip where they gained great experience in the aquarium. Then students spend some time at the beach before departing back to Fresno Click here for pictures and videos. |

| Mini-MESA Day Spring 2004 |
March 6, 2004 Beautiful day and another successful Mini MESA Day hosting over 350 students. Students competed in various subjects: Balsawood bridges, gliders, Packaged Egg Drop, Web Page Design, Model Science, Crystal Growing, Mousetrap Car, Straw and Paper Towers, Air Power Vehicle, Oral Presentation, and Soil Science. All students took math assessment test and all High School took a similitude SAT I exam. |

State Capitol
Field Trip Students learned first hand how our government works and the type of impact presents on our education systems. Nhia Yang, senior at Edison High School, had the opportunity to address California Legislators and the news media sharing his experience with MESA. Nhia received great endorsement from many key figures in our political system, such as Lt. Governor Cruz M. Bustamante.10 students also had the opportunity to meet with the assemblyman Mr. Steve Samuelian. Students explained MESA and its benefit and questioned many issues on the impact of our political system on education. Mini MESA Day Fall 2003 Despite the rainy weather and Bulldog chaos, MESA organized a successful Mini MESA Day hosting over 350 students. Middle Schools Saturday Academy: K-12 Mobile Science Classroom was a big factor in contributing to the success of our Saturday Academy. Students were able to build Robot and enjoy a little competition of the survival of the fittest. They also enjoyed building Gliders and Straw Towers. Click here for pictures and video clips |

High Schools Saturday Academy: Despite budget issues, over 165 high school students participated in day long Saturday Academy. MESA was pleased to have Dr. Maria Cristina Sanchez, CSU Fresno Engineering Professor, as the key note speaker. Special thank you to Dr. Jerry D. Valadez who is currently the K-12 Science Coordinator with the Fresno Systemic Program, and Director of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers serving 12 sites in Fresno Unified School District Click here for pictures and video clips. |
