Master of Public Health Program

The Master of Public Health Program addresses the health needs of the ethnically and socio-economically diverse populations living in the San Joaquin Valley of California and the Southwest. The program accomplishes this through the evaluation of students to be effective practitioners of the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to be effectively conduct public health needs assessments, program planning, implementation and evaluation, and applied research to address the needs of our communities.

The program also emphasizes community service with the underserved December 18, 2008unties and state agencies, as well as to develop professional opportunities for Master of Public Health Program students and graduates.

National Public Health Week logo(April 9, 2008) - The Master of Public Health Program at California State University, Fresno celebrated National Public Health Week by educating the campus community about climate change and the impact it has on one's health. An informational booth session was held on Tuesday, Apr. 8, offering important handouts and ideas for students, faculty and staff to be involved in this growing issue. Following the booth session, Dr. David Lighthall, senior scientist at the Central Valley Health Policy Institute, led a presentation on "Climate Change and the Valley's Health: What Can You Do?"
