2010 Central California Flute Festival
Robert Dick, guest artist
The Eighteenth Annual Central California Flute Festival is designed for flute players of all ages and abilities (beginning to advanced players). In addition to the concerts there will be a warm-up session and master class taught by Robert Dick, flute choir rehearsals, and exhibits. All events will take place in the Music Building at CSU, Fresno. The General Public is invited to the two concerts and admission for each is $10; admission to other sessions is $9. Fee for admission to the entire Festival is $25. Non-flutist adult companion (parent) Festival fee is $20. 8:15 AM - 6:30 PM. VAHAN MARDIROSSIAN, pianist and ALEXANDER CHAUSHIAN, cellist. This is a special Event (not part of the subscription series).
Works by Debussy, Shostakovich, and Franck. Armenian pianist Vahan Mardirossian returns to the series after his memorable solo recital during the 2005-2006 season. This time he will collaborate with London-based cellist Alexander Chaushian, a fellow countryman who has already appeared in many of the world's finest venues including New York's Carnegie Hall, Boston's Symphony Hall, London's Wigmore Hall and Royal Festival Hall, Vienna's Konzerthaus, and Milan's Sala Verdi.
