Opera TheaterDr. Anthony P. Radford, Director

The CSU Fresno Opera Theater is dedicated to helping voice students explore their potential as acting singers on the lyric stage. Techniques on acting for singing, stage movement, and becoming a freer, more expressive solo performer are studied in the class. Each semester culminates in staged and costumed performances of standard operatic and musical theater repertoire carefully selected to reflect the vocal, theatrical, and musical level of development for each student. The CSU Fresno Opera Theater has given many singers their first experiences singing on the lyric stage.  The 2009/10 season includes a program of scenes by Britten, Sondheim, Mozart, Adamo and Gilbert and Sullivan and a full production of Elixir of Love by Gaetano Donizetti. The Opera Theater will also tour the Central Valley in the spring of 2010.
