Timothy Todd Anderson

Timothy Todd AndersonTimothy Todd Anderson is the interim Associate Director of Bands at California State University, Fresno for the 2006 - 2007 season.   He directs the Bulldog Marching Band, the Uptown and Downtown Bulldog Beats, Wind Ensemble II (Fall semester), and Symphonic Band (Spring Semester).   Additionally, he teaches Marching Band Techniques.   Mr. Anderson holds the Bachelor of Music from the University of Iowa and a Master of Music from the University of Florida.   He is currently a candidate for the Doctorate of Education in Music Education from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.   He has studied conducting with David Waybright, James F. Keene, Thomas E. Caneva, and Joseph Manfredo.   Mr. Anderson has also been a tuba student of Robert Yeats and Mark Moore.   He credits Matthew D. Sexton as a career mentor.

Mr. Anderson began his teaching career in the West Marshall Community School District of State Center, Iowa, where he taught middle school and high school band.    He has served as a graduate teaching assistant at both the University of Florida and the University of Florida, writing marching drill and musical arrangements for both the "Pride of the Sunshine" Marching Band and the Marching Illini.   Mr. Anderson has also directed the basketball pep band at both Florida and Illinois, including performances at the 2005 NCAA Men's Basketball national title game.   While at the University of Illinois, Mr. Anderson has studied music education under the tutelage of Sam Reese, John Grashel, Greg DeNardo, and Joseph Manfredo.   He is currently conducting research on the career of the late Barbara Buehlman.   Mr. Anderson is a member of the College Music Society, the College Band Directors National Association, MENC, California Band Directors Association, Fresno-Madera Counties Music Educators Association, Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma (honorary) and the National Band Association.  

Mr. Anderson can be found singing in the choir at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fresno, and passionately following his many favorite sports teams (St. Louis Cardinals, Iowa Hawkeyes, Florida Gators, Chicago Bears, Illinois Fighting Illini, Chicago Bulls, and of course, the Fresno State Bulldogs).
