Patrol Operations places a high priority on the safety and security of the campus community. University Police strive to maintain a safe and secure living, learning and working environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

The University Police Department is a full service law enforcement agency that provides service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, year round. All officers are vested with full police officer powers and are certified by the California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST).

The University Police Department Communications Center is staffed with trained emergency dispatchers, 24 hours, 7 days a week.

The success of the University Police Department is attributed to the protocols of Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving (COPPS). This collaboration of community partnerships provides for a safe and secure campus.
