after hours access

Access to campus buildings is limited on evenings and weekends and only authorized individuals are granted admittance.

University Police members are prepared to assist those needing access to a building under the following conditions:

1. University identification must be provided upon request.
2. Authorization to enter a building must be documented and on file in the police dispatch area before admittance is granted.

The individual requesting access must call UPD each time they need to get into the room/building.

Individual department or faculty offices are not opened unless written permission is received from the department or occupant authorizing an individual to be let in.

Authorization

After hours authorization is granted after a department or an instructor has sent in a memo on department letterhead authorizing access.

Authorization lists:

• can be sent in at any time, but normally are received at the beginning of the semester
• are only valid for the specified semester (most specify an end date and are removed from our files after the end date occurs)

Generally, buildings are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. and closed on the weekends unless classes or other authorized functions are being held.
