*It is assumed that a percentage of students who donated blood during the four Fresno State Blood Drives held during the 2001-02 academic year were repeat donors. It is unknown what that exact percentage is, however, based on Central California Blood Center Statistics, only x percent of individuals donate more than once per year.
** The specific number of student volunteers for Kid’s Day 2002 is unknown. A conservative estimate, based on the number of student organizations involved (38), multiplied by an average of 10 students per organization, provides an estimate for the number of students who volunteered with this one day fundraiser for Children’s Hospital of Central California. A further conservative figure of 2 hours per volunteer provides total hours for this event. It is likely that the actual figures are much larger.
*** Based on an informal survey of all recognized student clubs and organizations conducted in fall 2003.
