Using the PSYCH10 Experiment Participation System
What is the PSYCH10 Experiment Participation System?
The PSYCH10 Experiment Participation System is the web-based system used by the Fresno State University Psychology Department to administer, schedule and sometimes run experiments. It is also used to assign participation credits to PSYCH 10 and PSYCH 144 students who participate in experiments for partial course credit.
How do I register to use the PSYCH10 Experiment Participation System?
Every student enrolled in PSYCH10 will automatically be enrolled in the system within one week of registration for the class.If you do not receive an enrollment email within one week of registration, contact Dr. Lorin Lachs (the Psych10 WRC Coordinator) .
How do I sign up to participate in an experiment with the PSYCH10 Experiment Participation System?
- Go to the PSYCH10 Experiment Participation System website by clicking on the “Experiment Participation” button on the left-hand side of the PSYCH10 website.
- Log in to the system by using your username and password. Your username is the same as your csufresno.edu email username. (If you have forgotten or lost your password, you can retrieve it using the “Lost your password?” link on the bottom left side of the page.)
- Check the list of currently running experiments by clicking on the “browse a list of studies and sign up for those that interest you” under “Study Sign-Up”
- You will see a list of experiments. Check your schedule and sign up for a session that you can attend.
- You will receive email reminders before the date of your experiment, but it is your responsibility to write down and remember your commitment to participate!
- Attend and be on time for your experiment. Participate seriously and completely, but also be aware that you are not obliged to complete the experiment if you feel uncomfortable in any way. Please Note: Failure to attend an experiment will result in a -1 research unit. Tardiness may also result in a -1 research unit. If you receive a -1 research unit, you will have to complete an additional research unit to reach your total of 5 research units.
- After your participation, your credit will be noted online, and you can check the credits you have earned so far by logging in to the EPS (as in Steps 1 and 2 above). Please allow at least 24 hours for the experimenter to enter your credits into the system.
How do I check or cancel my experiment appointments?
- Go to the PSYCH10 Experiment Participation System website by clicking on the “Experiment Participation” button on the left-hand side of the PSYCH10 website.
- Log in to the system by using your username and password. Your username is the same as your csufresno.edu email username. (If you have forgotten or lost your password, you can retrieve it using the “Lost your password?” link on the bottom left side of the page.)
- Click on “View or cancel my study appointments” under “My Schedule & Credits”
