How to Turnitin.com
Enrollment
After the Group Assignments have been made, your name will automatically be uploaded to turnitin.com, where your name and csufresno.edu email address will be registered for the class. You will receive a confirmation email from "helpdesk@turnitin.com" stating that you have been added as a student to the PSYCH 10 Writing/Research Component class.
If you already have an account at turnitin.com using your csufresno.edu email address, then your existing account will automatically be used.
If you do not already have an account at turnitin.com using your csufresno.edu email address, then you will receive a temporary password in your confirmation email. The confirmation will contain instructions for changing the temporary password. You should change the temporary password as soon as possible.
Submitting a Paper
Once you have completed your paper, you need to submit it on turnitin.com. Follow these steps to submit your paper:
- Log in to turnitin.com using your username and password.
- Click on "PSYCH 10 Writing" in the class list.
- You will see the "class portfolio", which contains a list of the assignments for the class. Click on the "submit" icon located next to the assignment for which you would like to submit a paper.
- It is very important that you submit Rough Drafts under the appropriate "Rough Draft" assignment, and Final Revisions under the appropriate "Final Revision" assignment!!
- For example, if you are submitting the Rough Draft of Paper #2, click on "Paper #2 - Rough Draft".
- Alternatively, if you are submitting the Final Revision of Paper #2, click on "Paper #2 - Final Revision".
- You will be taken to the submission page. Fill out the fields as follows:
- Make sure that the "Submit paper by:" menu says "file upload"
- Fill in your first and last names in the appropriate fields.
- In "Submission Title" write the Topic you chose for your paper.
- Click "Browse..." and then navigate to the location of the file on your computer. Click 'OK'. You should see the directory and filename of the paper you're submitting.
- Click the "submit" button.
- You will see a version of your paper, without formatting. Double check that the text you see comes from the paper you wish to submit, then click the "Yes, submit" button.
- Once you click on the "submit" button, you will receive a digital receipt. Note the "Paper ID" number for your records. You will also receive an email containing your Paper ID and the unformatted text of your submission.
- If you do not receive a Paper ID from turnitin.com, you have not successfully submitted your paper. Try to submit it again.
- If you need to submit another version of the same assignment, and it is before the assignment due date, you may do so. Simply submit the revised paper in the same location that you submitted the original. New Originality Reports will be generated each time you submit a paper for the same assignment.
Once the due date has passed it is impossible for you to turn in another version of your assignment.
