Welcome

Welcome to the Recreation Administration and Leisure Studies Program! Please take some time to explore our website and learn more about our major, certificates, courses, and our ropes course. Contact us by email or by calling 559-278-2838 if you have additional questions.

In the meantime, check out what our alumni, like Eddie Dominguez, have to say about the program. An accessible word document is available here. To hear from additional alumni, go to our alumni page.

The Program offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation Administration for individuals committed to the recreation, parks, tourism,  and leisure services profession. As a faculty, we believe self-determined, full engagement in leisure provides a valuable foundation for a high quality of life for all people. Opportunities are provided by government, non-profit, and commercial entities.

The recreation, parks, tourism, and leisure field comprises the second largest industry in the United States. Fresno State graduates have successfully secured professional positions in hospitals, centers for people with disabilities, and rehabilitation facilities; recreation directors in schools, churches, youth agencies, detention centers, cities, and counties; state and federal recreation agencies, tour companies, convention and visitor bureaus, special event companies, outdoor adventure companies, resorts, membership clubs, armed forces recreation services, and other organizations.
