Ag One Scholarship
$500 grant awarded to students majoring in Agriculture or Home Economics. Successful candidates are those students exhibiting leadership, character, scholarship and involvement in extracurricular activities. Preference is given to students with demonstrated financial need.

Awarded to undergraduate student in the field of Home Economics.
Alpha Zeta Active Member
Alpha Zeta awards a $200 per semester scholarship to active members of Alpha Zeta.
Alpha Zeta Fraternity Alumni
Conferred to Agricultural majors, the scholarships are for a minimum of $200 per academic year and are awarded on the basis of financial need, scholarship and demonstrated interest in agriculture. Preference is given to active members of Alpha Zeta Fraternity.
Ag One-American Vineyard Magazine Viticulture Scholarship
$500 scholarship awarded to an upper-division or graduate level Viticulture student.
Ag One-American Vineyard/Vegetables West Magazines-William Richard Malcolm Irrigation Scholarship
$500 scholarship awarded to an upper division or graduate level student with a demonstrated interest in water management, irrigation, etc.
Ag One-Richard A. Rogers Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time undergraduate Ag Education student with a 2.0 GPA or higher. First preference is given to students with FFA involvement or experience in the area of Ag.
Ag One-Ted and Rosalie Anderson Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to an undergraduate student majoring in Agriculture Economics and Education; Animal Sciences; Food Science and Nutrition; Plant Science and Mechanized Agriculture; or Family Studies and Home Economics. Preference is given to graduates from Kingsburg High School.
Richard J. Armas Memorial Agricultural
Awarded to a student in the School of Agriculture Sciences and Technology. First preference is given to students who are members of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity.
Kirk A. Baucher Memorial Award
This award is presented to the Dean’s Medallist each year in the School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology. The Dean’s medallist will receive $100 as well as a document providing brief biographical material and history regarding the origin of the Kirk A. Baucher memorial award.
Ag One-Jesse T. Bell Grant
Scholarship and student assistant funds, and/or grants are awarded to students pursuing a career in Agriculture Education, Animal Science or any combination thereof.
Ag One-Ross Borba, Sr. Family Grant
$500 scholarship awarded to an undergraduate and graduate students who graduated from a high school located in Fresno, Madera, Kings, or Tulare Counties, or have a permanent address on the University’s records within any such county. Students must be in good standing pursuing a course of study in agriculture with at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
Lee Brand / Burchell Nursery Grant
Awarded to students whose field of study or strong interest in the tree fruit and nut culture.
O Martin Braun
Awarded to an outstanding sophomore student majoring in Horticulture. A second scholarship is awarded to a junior student majoring in Horticulture.
Ag One-Nick Buratovich Superb Barbecue Committee Scholarship
$250 scholarship awarded to entering or enrolled students pursuing a degree in Agriculture Economics, Animal Sciences and Agriculture Education, Enology, Food Sciences and Nutrition, or Plant Sciences and Mechanized Agriculture. Preference will be given to students transferring from Kings River Community College. If no qualified student applies, then preference will be given to students from the San Joaquin Valley.
Ag One-Cal Almond Scholarship
$500 scholarship awarded to students enrolled in an upper division or post baccalaureate program of study in Plant Science or Agricultural Business with a demonstrated interest in nut crops. If no student qualifies, preference will be given to students pursuing a degree in Agricultural Education, Food Science and Nutrition or Viticulture and Enology.
California Dairy Industries
$1,000 is awarded to an eligible undergraduate, graduate or double majoring student within the majors within the majors of Food Processing and Dairy Technology.
Coachella Valley Growers Grant
A grant program initially started by Mr. Hubert C. Richert, of Indio, awards an entering freshman, transfer, or enrolled student demonstrating an interest in Agriculture. The recipient is selected by the Coachella Valley Chapter of California Women in Agriculture from among promising students in the Coachella Valley. Preference is given to minority students.
Ag One-Vernon Conrad Scholarship
$500 scholarship awarded to a student majoring in either Plant Science or Agriculture Business with an interest in tree fruit.
Ethel M. Corn Memorial
Awarded to student majoring in any field within the School or Agriculture Sciences and Technology.
Gary L. Crooker Memorial
A scholarship will be awarded to an Ag student (excluding Viticulture and Enology) during his/her junior scholastic year. The scholarship recipients shall be selected upon the bases of scholastic achievement, leadership ability, character, and educational promise in the field of agriculture.
CSU, Fresno Viticulture Club
Awarded to full-time students with a 3.0 GPA or better who are majoring in Plant Science with a career option in viticulture and are active members of the California State University, Fresno Viticulture Club.
Ag One-William C. “Bill” & Sharon Cutting Grant
$500 awarded to entering or enrolled students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Animal Husbandry.
D. Glynn Davis-Nat'l Juice Products
Awards two scholarships of $1,250 each to junior students (for use in their senior year) in the School of Agriculture Sciences and Technology who demonstrate a keen interest in the fruit juice industry and related participants. Industry members have a strong desire to assist recipients of this scholarship in gaining employment in the industry upon graduation.
Fred & Freda Dietz Memorial Scholarship
An endowment fund established by Dr. Gordon and Cecile Harmston awards a scholarship to a junior or senior student. Preference is giving to a U. S. citizen pursuing a degree in Agriculture with in the study of irrigation and/or water management.
General Dillingham
Awards two $2000 scholarships annually to students pursuing a career in the fresh fruit and vegetable industry, preferable in Marketing, who have attained at least junior standing.
Lloyd Dowler Grant
An endowment by Lloyd Dowler, Instructor of Poultry Husbandry 1948-1951, Dean of Agriculture 1951-1969 and teacher trainer Agriculture Education1969-1978, is available to an entering or enrolled students pursuing a degree in Agriculture who demonstrate leadership capabilities and scholastic aptitude.
John H. & Ruby L. Edwards Student Grant
Endowment is awarded in the following manner: Fifty percent (50%) of the fund is awarded to student(s) pursuing studies in the School or Agriculture Science and Technology, and fifty percent (50%) of the fund is awarded to students pursuing studies in the department of Nursing.
Eugene A. Egan Agricultural
In memory of Eugene A. Egan, first Dean to the School of Agriculture Sciences and Technology of California State University, Fresno, a scholarship is awarded to a full-time student in the School of Agriculture Sciences and Technology.

Awarded annually to a junior, senior or graduate student majoring in animal Science. Applicants are evaluated on academic achievements, leadership, extracurricular activities, character and financial need. $500 scholarship awarded to entering or enrolled students pursuing a degree in Agriculture.
Max and Verda Foster Ag One Scholarship
Foster Farms founded an endowment in memory of Max and Verda Foster to bestow scholarships to Junior or Senior students majoring in Agriculture Business with a minimum 3.2 GPA. Candidates are required to write a 500 word essay on why they should receive this scholarship.
Fresno Cotton Exchange
Awarded to graduates of Fresno County high schools who are planning to major in Agriculture. Applicants are weighed on the basis of financial need, educational promise, and an express interest in Agriculture as a career. The grants are renewed as long as the recipient remains eligible. Preference is give to students from the Fig Garden Farm Bureau Center regardless of major.
Ag One-Fresno Cotton Wives Agriculture Grant
$500 grant awarded to entering or enrolled students pursuing a degree in Agriculture and/or Home Economics with preference given to students who are citizens of the United States.
Ag One-Fresno County Farm Bureau Grant
Awarded to students pursuing a degree in Agriculture.
Fresno Industrial Education Assn.
The Fresno Industrial Education Assn will award $100 to an upper-division Industrial Arts major who is working toward a standard teaching credential. Preference is given to Fresno County junior college graduates or residents of Fresno County.
Ag One-Fresno Wine Experience Scholarship
Awards two (2) $500 working scholarships. Recipients are assigned to work in the Enology Program under the aegis of the Enology Program Director. Upon completion of his/her working scholarship, recipients write a brief report addressing the Enology Program Director as to his/her endeavors under this working scholarship agreement.

Awarded to an agriculture major with emphasis on grape/raisin production.
Carl Gaumnitz Memorial
Awarded to a student(s) planning to major in Dairy Science. The scholarship is granted on the basis of financial need, educational promise and an interest in dairy as a teacher.

Awarded to students majoring in Plant Science and mechanized Agriculture with emphasis in Viticulture.
Ag One-Bert Giguiere Scholarship
$500 grant awarded to entering or enrolled students who graduated from Clovis High School and are pursuing a Bachelor degree in the field of Agriculture.
Ag One-Robert J. Glim Scholarship
Awarded to agriculture students with first priority given to students from Woodlake Union High School. Mr. Glim is a professor emeritus in the Department of Agriculture Economics.
Martin Edsel Gonser Memorial
Awards scholarships to majors in the Department of Industrial Arts and Technology.
Sam Hamburg Memorial Loan Fund
Funds are advanced to Los Banos High School graduates, members of the F.F.A regardless of sex, race, creed, or color, who will attend California State University, Fresno and major in Agriculture. Continuance in the major is a condition of this loan. Contact the Dean’s office in the School of Agriculture Sciences and Technology.

$500 scholarship awarded to entering or enrolled students pursuing a degree in Agriculture.
William W. Hansen Memorial
A perpetual scholarship established by Mrs. Josephine G. Hansen is awarded to a student majoring in the School of Agriculture Sciences and Technology in Agricultural Education.

$500 grant awarded to entering or enrolled students pursuing a degree in Agriculture with preference given to Dairy Industry majors.

Three $1,500 awards are distributed from this fund. One scholarship is awarded to a student in the Sid Craig School of Business, another to a student in the School of Agriculture Sciences and Technology, and one more goes to a student in each of the remaining schools. Eligible applicants are junior or senior students who are citizens of the United States who have demonstrated leadership and scholastic achievement.

College of Arts & Humanities Dean's Council Scholarship
Awarded to graduate or undergraduate students demonstrating a commitment to the study of arts or humanities. Recipients must be full-time, in good academic standing, demonstrated involvement within the community, and have a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 or greater.
Irene LeBlanc Scholarship
Awarded to an undergraduate student with a physical disability who demonstrates motivation and desire to obtain a bachelor’s degree within the College of Science and Mathematics or the College of Arts and Humanities.

Carroll Moon
This scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate overall excellence and accomplishment in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in any department within the College of Arts and Humanities. Students must be full-time and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Armenian Studies

$500 scholarship is awarded to student of Armenian descent. Preference is given to those students demonstrating financial need.

Awarded to full time students who are either majoring in the field of Armenian studies, or graduate students doing research on an Armenian topic. Students must demonstrate academic excellence and/or financial need.
Bertha & John Garabedian
Awarded to a student who has completed Humanities 10 & 11 with a 3.0 or better in each course, as well as maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Student must also have graduated from a high school in the Fresno Unified School District, Madera Unified School District, or Sierra Unified School District.
Charlie Keyan Scholarship Armenian Studies
Candidates for this scholarship must be enrolled full-time, be in good academic standing with at least a 2.5 GPA, and taking Armenian Studies courses.

Two annual scholarships are awarded to full-time students who maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher. Recipients are required to enroll in a class for grad or credit in Armenian studies, Armenian language or Armenian history.

Awarded to an entering student planning to major in Art or Drama and is renewable up to four years on the basis of satisfactory academic and personal performance in a full-time program of study. Preference given to applicants on the basis of merit and promise in the filed of Art or Drama.
Adolf Odorfer Art
Awarded to deserving students in the Department of Art. Recipients are selected on the basis of financial need rather than grade point average.

Awarded to a full-time undergraduate Art student studying either Graphic Art, Painting or Drawing.
Craig Stover Memorial
Awarded to students majoring in Art possessing outstanding artistic talent as determined by the art faculty is in memory of Craig Stover, graduate of California State University, Fresno Department of Art.
Ina Gregg Thomas Memorial
Established by Ruth Crawford and awarded to a student that meets scholastic eligibility and exhibits talent in an area of the Creative Arts.

Communication

Anthony J. Perella Jr. Memorial
Established by the Speech Communication Department with support from the Xerox Corporation and distributed in the spring semester of the academic year to promising senior speech communication students. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of past and present involvement in campus and/or community service, merit, and progress as a Speech Communication major at California State University, Fresno.
Charles Taylor Memorial
Awarded to students who have completed 60 or more semester units and are majors in Speech Communication from the family and friends of Charles Taylor.

English

Benck Family
Family and friends of Ernie and June Benck award scholarships to students in accordance with the following: in even numbered years the scholarship is presented to a Journalism major, and in odd numbered years the scholarship is presented to a creative poetry writing major enrolled in the Master of Fine Arts program. Doris F Falk Memorial
Awards scholarships for the perpetuation of the memory of Doris F. Falk, a professor in the Department of Biology at California State University, Fresno from 1956 until her retirement in 1972. It is the sincere hope of family and friends of Doris Falk that in perpetuating her memory through this scholarship there will be reflected in future recipients some of the goodness, kindness, and dedication to the teaching of Biology and commitment to the Fresno community which so typified the life of Doris Falk. The minimum award is $500, with the actual amount determined by the annual amount of earnings of the endowment fund. The scholarship recipients are selected by a committee appointed by the Department of Biology. Eligible applicants are undergraduate students majoring in a biological science degree offered by the Department of Biology; will be graduating with a Bachelor's degree the semester the scholarship is awarded; and have the highest overall GPA, which must be at least a minimum of 3.90, of any graduating Biology students the semester the scholarship is awarded.
Fly Fishers for Conservation Scholarship
Awarded to a student in pursuit of studies in Biology, who demonstrates an interest in a research area benefiting Central California cold-water trout streams, and must demonstrate the motivation and desire to achieve a graduate degree within the College of Science and Mathematics.

This scholarship is awarded to junior or senior biology students with a GPA of 3.5 or better who have an interest in entomology. Preference will be given to students who also show a strong interest in Hispanic Cultures.

Dana Geology
$300 is awarded to a senior or graduate student in the Department of Geology. Scholarship is non-renewable.
Ken Schmidt Hydrogeology Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a deserving student pursuing studies in Earth and Environmental Science, and who demonstrates an interest in groundwater. Student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 and demonstrate motivation and desire to obtain a graduate degree in Geology within the College of Science and Mathematics.
Patagonia Scholarship
Two full-ride scholarships shall be awarded to qualified students who are incoming freshmen and demonstrate an intent to major in Environmental Sciences. Preference will be given to applicants who also have demonstrated an interest in African American or Native American cultures. This scholarship shall cover annual tuition, on-campus community style university housing, meal plan, and a book stipend.

The purpose of the scholarship awards are intended to support travel scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students within the College of Social Sciences. Students applying for this scholarship must fit the following criteria:

An endowment established by the Department of Geography faculty distributes scholarships annually to students following an academic program leading to a Bachelor of Arts or Master of Arts Degree in Geography.
Dansby Geography Grant
Scholarships are available for undergraduate or graduate Geography majors. Scholarship recipients are expected to contribute academically to the Geography department goals. The Department of Geography Scholarship Committee selects all recipients.
The Retired Geographers' Scholarship
Awarded to one or more qualified students demonstrating overall excellence and accomplishment in pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate major in Geography.

This endowment provides for a scholarship in memory of Clair Nelsen and his wife, Marion. Financial need is not a requirement. Recipients must be actively pursuing a degree in the School of Social Sciences. Preference is given to History degree applicants.

Karl Buckman Memorial
Awarded at the end of each academic year the scholarship goes to a junior (class level) Political Science major maintaining the highest cumulative GPA in the department. The award is automatic, and does not require an application for consideration. Financial need is not considered. The award may only be used at California State University, Fresno and will be disbursed to the recipient during his/her senior year.

American Association of Women Accountants
Two $400 renewable scholarships are available from Fresno Chapter #80 for accounting majors entering their sophomore or junior year and planning to continue to a higher level of accounting.
Applied Finance Group MBA
Students awarded this scholarship must be participating in the MBA program in the Craig School of Business, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, have a GMAT score in the top ten percentile, and have professional experience preferably in Accounting and/or Finance.
Diane Bien Memorial Scholarship
The Fresno Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) is pleased to announce the establishment of the Diane Bien Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship will provide financial assistance for one or more upper division students attending California State University, Fresno with a real estate major and/or majoring in a field closely related to real estate.

Established by George W. Sims, a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accounts (Fresno Chapter), this fund provides loans and scholarships to students enrolled at the University. James Michael Zinovich Memorial Award
An award established by the family and friends of James Michael Zinovich is presented annually to a graduating senior who is rendered worthy service to the university, has been active in university organizations, and has achieved distinguished scholarship. Special consideration is given to students who began his/her college career late or who are returning after an absence of several semesters. The award is in the form of an inscribed plaque presented to the winner. A permanent plaque resides in The Sid Craig School of Business inscribed with each awardees name.
James Michael Zinovich Memorial Scholarship $500 scholarship from Mrs. Dan Zinovich and the late Mr. Zinovich is awarded annually in memory of their son, James M. Zinovich, to an entering or enrolled student majoring in Business.

Division of Graduate Studies

California Pre-Doctoral Program
Each of the applicants selected will be designated a Sally Casanova Pre-Doctoral Scholar and will work closely with a California State University faculty sponsor to develop an overall plan which leads ultimately to enrollment in a doctoral program. The plan is to be tailored to the specific goals and career objectives of the student. The students selected must be upper-division or master's degree students who are enrolled at California State University, Fresno during the semester of application, and for at least one semester of the following academic year. The program is designed for students interested in obtaining doctoral degrees. Students interested in entering professional schools to obtain professional degrees in law, medicine, dentistry or related fields are not eligible. Current or previous California Pre-Doctoral Scholars are not eligible to apply.
Graduate Equity Fellowship Program
This program seeks to increase the diversity of students completing graduate degree programs at California State University, Fresno and encourages continuation on to the doctoral programs and consideration of university faculty careers. It provides fellowships for economically disadvantaged graduate students, especially from groups that are underrepresented among graduate degree recipients in their areas of study, and promotes faculty mentoring and research opportunities. Fellowships range in amounts from $500 to $4,500. Recipients may be funded up to four semesters, subject to maintaining satisfactory progress toward the completion of a graduate degree. This fellowship will require recipients to engage in a professionally mentored activity for a minimum of five hours and a maximum of twenty hours per week, based on the amount of their award.

Arthur L. Selland Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a deserving student at Fresno State with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Must have a demonstrated financial need, be of good moral character, have an interest in the affairs of Fresno State, the community, and government. Should also have potential ability and interest in one or more of the arts, professions or sciences. If candidate is an entering student, they must have graduated from the top 1/3 of the class and come from a high school located in Fresno County.
Sigma Chi White Rose Scholarship
Members of the Fresno State Chapter Sigma Chi Fraternity who are enrolled with good standing as students and members of the Chapter.
H.G. Stridde Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a graduate from Corcoran Union High School, or second preference, a graduate of another Kings County High School who is enrolled at Fresno State majoring in agriculture with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Student must have completed some units and show promise as, or determination to be, a farmer. If no qualified student can be found, the scholarship may be awarded to a student majoring in Home Economics.
Clark Van Galder Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a student who is working towards a bachelor's degree in Physical Education with an option in teaching who has a GPA of 2.75 or higher and demonstrates a need for financial assistance.
Arthur C. Wahlberg Scholarship Trust
Awarded to a deserving who's pursuing a music major.
Mrs. James B. Winter Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a music major in performance or history and literature who wished to pursue Early Music. Preference will be given to the student of the Viola Da Gamba family.
Alumni General Scholarship Fund
Any student enrolled at Fresno State is eligible for this scholarship.

To be awarded to incoming freshmen students at CSU, Fresno. One deserving student best meeting standards/criteria set forth by CSU, Fresno provided that there shall be a qualified student who appears most in need of financial assistance.

Awarded to students majoring in Chemistry, Music, or Education, with a minimum GPA of 3.0, who demonstrate financial need.
Lita Block Memorial
A scholarship from the Fresno County Farm Bureau is being awarded annually to an entering or enrolled student working toward a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree. Applicant must have completed a minimum of four years of supervised 4-H Club work in Fresno County.
Verna Mae Brooks
Established by Dr. Wayne A. Brooks in memory of his wife, Verna Mae Brooks, a scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate student in any degree program.
Chinese Student Club Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an entering Freshman who has an active interest and participation in Chinese cultural events and activities.

Awarded to a student with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Special consideration is given to College Bowl participants and to undergraduate students bringing academic distinction to themselves and the University.

A scholarship established by Mr. E. A. McCord of Fresno in concert with the California State University, Fresno Foundation, is awarded to students of the university to aid and encourage them in obtaining a college education.

Reverend Sergio P. Negro
A $1,800 scholarship is granted to St. Paul Newman Center, the Roman Catholic University Parish at California State University, Fresno, who as part of the parish's campus ministry outreach to the community, awards these funds on the basis of economic need to a full-time student from Merced, Mariposa, Madera, Fresno, Kings, Tulare, Kern or Inyo counties.

Several scholarships from an endowment by James Shultz in memory of Susan Orman are awarded to entering or enrolled students. Awards are based on need and scholarship.

Awarded to the son or daughter of foreign-born parents. Recipients are selected at the sole discretion of the appropriate officers of California State University, Fresno in charge of administering the Louise J. Otto scholarships.

Three $1,500 scholarships are awarded to a junior or senior students who have demonstrated leadership and scholastic achievement.

A scholarship established by friends and former students of Dr. Hubert Phillips goes to a student with a broad background of English, History, Sociology, and related disciplines. The recipient must have definitely decided upon a life work with social impact, e.g. teaching, journalism, social work, etc.

Established to proudly provide scholarships annually to two students with evidence of general need. Scholarship is to be used for tuition or fees.

Awarded to students who are self supporting and/or orphaned.
Percy Prize
$2,500 award for a full-time or part-time student who is physically disabled with preference given to individuals with orthopedic or mobility disorder. Must have an unmet financial need as determined by the Scholarship Office in collaboration with the Office of Financial Aid.
Emory Ratcliffe Memorial
Established by friends of Emory Ratcliffe, a teacher at the university who dedicated his life to young men and women, a scholarship is granted to a full-time student on the basis of merit and financial need.
Narinder Randhawa Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students who have graduated from a High School within the San Joaquin Valley and who demonstrate interest and knowledge of the Sikh community and religion.

Stephens
A Scholarship is awarded each semester to a physically disabled junior or senior student. Applicants must submit a letter indicating why they would benefit from this scholarship. If a student of junior standing is awarded this scholarship, he/she may reapply as a senior.
Sara Struthers
The Fresno Chapter of the National Indoor Sports Club, Inc. presents a scholarship to a physically handicapped student attending California State University, Fresno.
Lucille Sweeney
An endowment established in memory of Lucille Sweeney provides scholarships for the benefit of needy students.
Valley First Credit Union Scholarship
A $1,000 scholarship is awarded each year to an incoming or continuing student at CSU, Fresno who has a minimum 3.0 GPA, enrolled full-time, and is a member of Valley First Credit Union in good standing.
Alice E. and Paul J. Vincent Sr. Memorial Scholarship
This four year renewable scholarship (in the amount equivalent to resident fess plus a book stipend) is awarded to incoming freshmen with a minimum GPA of 3.5 who intend to pursue Ag., Science, or Physical Health Science major (excluding any programs specific to the field of paramedics). Students must also be financially needy as determined by Fresno State’s Financial Aid Office and the University Scholarship Office.
Vintage Days Award Grant
$400 and not more than $1,000 is awarded to students with a minimum of 2.50 GPA. Preference is given to students involved in co curricular activities on and off campus; have held offices and leadership positions; completed at least 24 college units. Preference is also given to students currently or previously serving on the Vintage Days Planning committee. Involvement with Vintage Days is considered only for the current year or previous year, which, therefore, limits consideration to two years from the date the award, is given in the fall semester, not two years from the date of application in the spring semester.

Albert Graves Wishon II Memorial
Established by Mrs. A. Emory Wishon, as a memorial to her son Albert Graves Wishon II, this scholarship is available to deserving full-time students who are residents of the San Joaquin Valley.
Woodford Grant
Established by Bertha and Mary Woodford, income from this fund goes to a student who might also qualify for an Educational Opportunity Grant.

Alan Pattee Scholarship

Alan Pattee Scholarship is available to students who are children of deceased public law enforcement or fire suppression employees, who were California residents and who were killed in the course of law enforcement or fire suppression duties, are not charged mandatory systemwide fees or tuition of any kind at any California State University campus, according to the Alan Pattee Scholarship Act, California Education Code, Section 68120. Students qualifying for these benefits need to contact the Registrar's Office (559) 278-2191, which determines eligibility. The Registrar's Office is located in the Joyal Administration Building, north lobby room 106.

Nathan Fullerton Memorial Scholarship

Nathan Fullerton was a senior, Engineering major at California State University, Fresno, when he was diagnosed with cancer. Because of his illness and nature of treatment, he was forced to leave school for a semester, but returned to complete his degree requirements in the fall of 1998. Sadly, Nathan lost his battle to cancer and passed away in August of 1999.

One year later, a memorial endowment was created that provides two $500 scholarships to students each year, and depending on the success of additional fundraising, annual donations, and endowment income, future scholarships will be awarded in various amounts on an annual basis to students who are currently going through cancer treatment.

Qualifications for this scholarships are:

Must be enrolled at California State University, Fresno, on a full-time or part-time basis.
Must be diagnosed as having any form of cancer and diagnosis must be verified in a letter
signed by a qualified, licensed medical practitioner/oncologist, which attest to such
diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

Richard Freimuth International Study Scholarship

Richard H. Freimuth (December 12, 1950-November 1, 1993) was a gifted teacher whose life’s work and passion was working with international students. For ten years before his death, he taught classes in English as a Second Language, Linguistics, and Spanish. Rich grew up in Chicago, and later earned degrees in history (B.A.) and Applied Linguistics and Spanish (M.A.) from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.

Rich moved to Fresno in August of 1987. He immediately began teaching as a lecturer at CSUF in the American English Institute, and in the Department of Linguistics. He also taught at the International English Institute, City College, and the Fresno Adult School. At the time of his cancer diagnosis, he was applying (with his wife Beth) for a Fulbright Award. His illness and death cut short his own possibility of overseas travel and international study, but Rich embodied in his short life the best of what international study should do: increase political awareness, open new experiences, hone cultural sensitivity, confront one’s own fears, and above all, live fully in the moment.

An annual $500 scholarship is a way to continue Richard Freimuth’s spirit, his work, and his enormous optimism and love of life.

Eligibility
Internationally minded students who also reflect good academic standing in any discipline and have a desire to study abroad for a full calendar year are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0
Students must have at least sophomore standing, and be matriculated at CSU, Fresno for the year they plan to study abroad.
Students must have completed at least 30 units of coursework at CSU, Fresno.
Application Deadline: April 30 for the following academic year.

Smittcamp Family Honors Program

The Smittcamp Honors program is designed to attract more freshmen students to California State University, Fresno. The intellectual level of the campus is enhanced by Honors College offerings and activities; the impact resonates throughout the Central Valley. All 75 students in each Smittcamp Family Honors College class receive a grant equivalent to full tuition and fees, an annual $200 book allowance, and free housing on campus for all four years of a student's honors study.
