COM S 101 REGISTRATION AND WORKSHOPS

Dear Student:

Thank you for your interest in the Community Service 101 (Com S 101) course for the upcoming semester. The time that you will be spending on community service-learning activities could be some of the most rewarding time you will commit to a class while at Fresno State. Through this course you can gain excellent career experience, develop leadership and other personal skills, involve yourself in an experiential education activity and contribute to the community in which you live.

You may sign up for 1, 2, or 3 units of academic credit. For each unit of credit you enroll in you must perform 45 hours of service during the semester. The only "class time" required is a one hour registration workshop in the beginning of the semester and a one hour workshop at the end of the semester. At the registration workshop you will learn all of the important details about community service in general and about the Com S 101 course in particular. At this workshop you will also obtain the required forms for the
Community Service 101 course.

You can sign-up for the Com S 101 course during pre-registration or during the first two weeks of the semester using the STAR telephone registration system. Units can count toward elective requirements and the course is open to all undergraduate and graduate students. The registration numbers for the course sections are as follows: (You may only register for one section and a maximum of 3 units per semester.)

1 Unit of Credit (45 hours of service):  34693
