Senior Experience
Approaching graduation requires a lot of close attention to details. There are many requirements for graduation from the amount of units you need all the way to applying for graduation.
Follow the links on the left for graduation requirements and a checklist to help you navigate the process. Below are the instructions to apply to graduate.
Instructions to Apply for Graduation:
You do NOT automatically graduate after meeting all requirements – you have to APPLY to have your graduation processed!!
Students have to apply to graduate within the first two weeks of the semester in which they intend to complete their degree requirements and graduate. The Evaluations Office (Joyal Room 115) processes the forms on a first come first serve basis, so the earlier the better! First date to apply is the first day classes are in session that semester. Senior Experience Committee members are typically set up on the grassy side of building between 8am and 11am to help you celebrate your accomplishment with FREE refreshments and information.
Students Must Do the Following:
- Pick up the application from the Evaluations office or download the Undergraduate Degree Application Form at the bottom of the webpage found here. (not posted until the first day of the semester yet).
- Pay the fee at the Cashier's office ($35.00)
- Return the completed application along with the receipt back to Evaluations for approval.
Graduation applications are reviewed throughout the semester. You will receive a letter during the semester informing you about your graduation status.
In order to make sure that you have done everything you can to ensure your expected graduation, you should print out a copy of your DARS (Degree Audit Report System) report from your MyFresnoState Account. For info on how to find the report, click here.
For information on how to understand your DARS report, click here.
Look out for any minus signs that appear on this report as they indicate deficiencies in your coursework needed to graduate. The top of your DARS report should say something like “all requirements met with coursework in-progress.”
You should also plan to meet with Student Success Services in Joyal 224 and with your major advisor to ensure all GE and major requirements are met.
