Since its inception in 1989, the San Joaquin Valley Mathematics Project (SJVMP) has provided a stimulating and supportive professional home for K-12 mathematics teachers residing in the Central Valley of California. The SJVMP offers summer institutes, Saturday workshops, leadership retreats,district partnerships, an online forum for teachers and university faculty, and a weekly online mathematics education news journal (COMET), all designed to help teachers become more knowledgeable and effective instructors of mathematics.
