Facility Description

The SRL has historically focused on survey research and primarily on telephone interviewing. We have an eight-station CATI (computer-assisted telephone interviewing) laboratory which allows us to do eight simultaneous interviews on one or more projects. Our software manages scheduling of the interviews, maintains the database, and provides for editing and coding before exporting the data to a file that can be read by a statistical package such as SPSS. Data security and respondent confidentiality are extremely important to the SRL.

California State University, Fresno faculty serve as consultants for particular projects. The SRL also employs research assistants who have been trained in interviewing, coding, data entry, and data analysis. For each project, the SRL staff, in consultation with the client, selects the team of faculty consultants and research assistants to meet the research needs.
