Bridget Conlon is excited to join the faculty at Fresno in Fall 2007.
Her dissertation, which she will defend during the fall semester, is
on neighborhood effects on depressive disorders in adolescents and
their primary caregivers.
Her interests include social psychology, sociology of mental illness,
and family. Her publications include two co-authored (with Christabel
Rogalin) entries in the Blackwell Encyclopedia of Sociology, one on
learned helplessness and the other on attraction. In addition to her
dissertation, Miss Conlon is also currently collaborating with Robb Willer and Christabel Rogalin on an experiment examining the effect of
gender identity challenges to male testosterone levels. Finally, a
paper regarding identity effects on IQ scores with Reef Youngreen,
Michael Lovaglia, and Dawn Robinson has received an R&R and is currently being revised.
Bridget is looking forward to appreciating the sunshine and natural settings that Central California has to offer. The road trip from Iowa
has already reminded her how beautiful the West can be.
