Web Standard Information for the
Division of Student Affairs

Fresno State and the Division of Student Affairs has developed a new standard for all websites that will operate under Student Affairs. Fresno State developed this new standard for the entire university in order achieve a unified, creative and accessible look, while meeting web standards that have been set by the World Wide Web Consortium (http://www.w3c.org).

Fresno State has a website dedicated to promoting the new web standard, and it is located at http://cleanuptheweb.csufresno.edu. From there you can request the actual 'Clean Up The Web' toolkit, get support and view university websites that have been developed using the toolkit.

The Division of Student Affairs has added standards to division websites, that include the university standard plus several more things:

  • All programs will have their websites developed as a sub-site of the Division of Student Affairs site. This program's site will exist at http://www.csufresno.edu/studentaffairs/programs. However, this does not mean that you must use this long URL. We encourage that a program adopt a short URL, such as www.csufresno.edu/programname. We realize that it is important that a website's URL be easily remembered.
  • There are three templates that a Student Affairs program can choose from to develop their site with. These templates are 780-1A, 780-1B and 780-3B. A toolkit has been developed by Student Affairs and can be downloaded at http://www.csufresno.edu/studentaffairs/standard/Student Affairs Web Toolkit.zip. Although it is not required, we encourage Student Affairs programs use this toolkit in order to make website development easier.
  • The red banner at the very top of every Student Affairs website will be the exact same as the one on the Student Affairs website. This image can be found in the Student Affairs toolkit or at http://www.csufresno.edu/studentaffairs/images/csuf_headerCUSTOM.gif.
  • The unit banner of each website will have some branding of Student Affairs and its 'Promoting Student Success' logo. How the branding is implemented is up to the program, but it is required.
  • There will be a link to the Student Affairs new website (http://www.csufresno.edu/studentaffairs) under the navigation in the left bar in each website.
