One-Time Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are needed to support our upcoming Mental Health Screening Day scheduled for Wednesday, April 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Students interested in volunteering must attend one of the orientation dates listed below. To sign up for your orientation, click here.

  • Tuesday, April 3rd @ 10:00 to 10:50 a.m.
  • Wednesday, April 4th @ 4:00 to 4:50 p.m.
  • Friday, April 6th @ 1:30 to 2:20 p.m.

Keeping It Sexually Safer (KISS) Peers

Keeping It Sexually Safer (KISS) peers are responsible for promoting reproductive health services to our Fresno State students.

KISS Peers:

  • Present Sex Jeopardy presentations in the classroom.
  • Participate in outreach events to educate students on reproductive health information.
  • Make a 6 month commitment serving 20 hours per month.
  • Attend mandatory trainings and meetings.

Peer Ambassadors of Wellness

The Peer Ambassadors of Wellness (PAW) program is responsible for promoting the health and wellness of our Fresno State students. 

PAW Volunteers: 

  • Develop and implement activities and presentations focused on a variety of topics, including: stress, anxiety, depression, nutrition, physical activity, alcohol, tobacco adn other drugs, food security and basic needs. 
  • Serve as mentors to individuals with mild to moderate depression and/or anxiety through the Work it Out! program. 
  • Make a one-year commitment serving an average of 5 hours weekly.
  • Attend mandatory weekly meetings (1 hour) every Monday at 12:00 p.m.

All volunteers must maintain a 2.0 minimum semester GPA throughout the application process and academic year.

Student Health Advisory Committee 

The Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) is responsible for representing student voice in issues related to health and wellness.

SHAC Members:

  • Serve on a committee made up of students, staff and faculty. 
  • Provide recommendations regarding the operation and services of the Student Health and Counseling Center. 
  • Assess the campus climate on health and wellness and provide feedback to administration. 
  • Make a one-year commitment serving an average of 3-5 hours monthly. 
  • Attend monthly meetings (based on member availability). 

Previous leadership experience is preferred. 

All volunteers must maintain a 2.0 minimum semester GPA throughout the application process and academic year.
