POSSIBLE COURSES FOR FIRST-TIME FRESHMEN

What courses can freshmen students enroll in for their first semester at California State University, Fresno?


A First-time freshmen can enroll in any of the following courses:

GE A1 Oral Communication: Communication 3, 7, 8
GE A2 Written Communication: English 1 (and English 1LP student do not pass the EPT)
GE A3 Critical Thinking: Anthropology 30; Chicano Latino Studies 30; Communication 5; Computer Science 1; Geomatics Engineering 5; Natural Science 4; Philosophy 25, 45; Sociology 3; Women's Studies 12
GE B4 Quantitative Reasoning: Decision Sciences 71; Mathematics 45, 75 (or Math 1RA or Math 4R depending on their ELM score)
GE B2 Life Sciences: Biology 10, 15 (HNE only); Biological Science 1A; Botany 10; Zoology 10
GE C1 Arts : Armenian Studies 20; Art 1, 20, 40, 50; Art History 10, 11; Chicano Latino Studies 9; Drama 22, 62; English 41, 43; Music 9, 74

If students have completed AP English Composition or English Literature with a score of 3, 4 or 5 OR if they passed a college level English Composition course and received a "C" grade or better, students can also take the following courses:

If students have completed AP Calculus AB or Calculus BC with a score of 3, 4 or 5, they can also take the following courses:
GE B1 Physical Sciences : Chemistry 1A, 3A, 10; Geology 1, 15 (HNE only); Physical Science 21; Physics 2A, 4A & 4AL, 10

If students want to "brush up" on their chemistry before attempting Chemistry 1A or 3A (B1), they can enroll in Chem 15R for 2 units. This is a non-degree credit course.
