POSSIBLE COURSES FOR FIRST-TIME TRANSFER STUDENTS
What courses can transfer students enroll in for their first semester at California State University, Fresno?
First-time transfer students can:
Lower division General Education (courses numbered 1-99)
Take any lower division G.E. classes that they know they still need.
Upper Division General Education (courses numbered 100-199)
Take upper division G.E. classes they know they need as long as they have or will have 60 semester units at the end of their first semester at Fresno State and have met prerequisites, if any.

If their catalog year is 1988-89 through 1998-99 , choose from BREADTH or one or two CAPSTONE classes.

If their catalog year is 1999-2000 to present and they have met the prerequisites, choose from INTEGRATION and/or MULTICULTURAL/ INTERNATIONAL.
Upper Division Writing Skills Requirement
Depending on what their major, students may be able to pass an examination (UpperDivision Writing Exam) or take a "W" class to meet this requirement and pass the course with a "C" grade or higher. Consult the current Schedule of Courses for a complete listing of classes.
To receive upper division credit for the "W" class, students must have completed 60 or more semester units which count toward graduation by the end of the term in which they take the class.
Major classes
Take beginning major courses that they have not yet completed.
Minor or certificate classes
Earn elective units by pursuing a minor (ranging from 15 to 24 units) or a certificate (usually 12 units) in areas of high interest to the student.

Electives
Take any classes that interest them. Some students enjoy physical education (Kinesiology) activity classes or one-unit topic classes.
