UNDECLARED MAJORS
Where can students receive advising assistance if they have not yet declared a major?
The Office of Advising Services, Joyal Administration Building, Room 224, 278-1787, advises students with "Undeclared" majors. Academic counselors meet with students to review degree requirements, assist with academic planning, and explore possible career interests. Undeclared students are encouraged to attend a COMPASS workshop, utilize the Career Center, meet with academic departments, enroll in University 1, and complete General Education courses while exploring their major options.
What is a COMPASS Workshop?
COMPASS ( Combining Opportunities to Meet Personal, Academic, and Student Success) is a one-hour workshop designed specifically for students who have not yet declared a major or are considering a major change. The workshop provides students with information about resources available to them to aid in the exploration process. It is offered multiple times during each semester, and students can sign-up for the workshop in the Office of Advising Services , Joyal Administration Building, Room 224.
What is "University 1"?
University 1 is a three-unit course designed to guide students through the academic process and to help ensure their success. The course is offered each semester to familiarize students with campus resources and assist students in assessing their values, goals, and career interests. http://www.csufresno.edu/universityone/
