Academic Probation and Disqualification
Undergraduate students whose campus or cumulative grade point average falls below the satisfactory scholarship level (2.00 GPA) are placed on probation; they are academically disqualified if their GPA falls below probation levels as seen on the Student Level Chart. Graduate students, please go to Division of Graduate Studies for more information.
To understand how academic standing is determined, see this Student Level Chart (PDF).
Students placed on academic disqualification at the end of a semester may either be placed on Disqualified-Readmitted standing and allowed to continue the next semester, or placed on Academic Disqualification and will not be allowed to attend the subsequent semester.
If your standing for Fall 2010 is Disqualified-Readmitted, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- Enroll in no more than 13 units during the Fall 2010 semester.
- Earn a minimum 2.00 GPA in your Fall 2010 semester classes, with no F’s or WU’s.
- Meet regularly with your faculty or academic advisor.
- Complete a mandatory Maximizing Academic Potential (MAP) workshop during the Fall 2010 semester.
- Improve your overall grade point average.
One of the requirements for a Disqualified-Readmitted student is to complete a Maximizing Academic Potential (MAP) workshop during the Fall 2010 term.
