DARS Report

The Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) report is used as an advising tool. It is a system-generated report that shows a student's progress toward completing major requirements, General Education, and remaining degree requirements.

DARS Report  A DARS report is an important tool for advisors.  DARS reports should be generated for students each semester to track progress toward degree completion.
"What-If" DARS Report The "What-If" DARS report is another advising tool to show completion degree requirements if a student were to choose another major or be eligible for a different catalog year.

How long does it take for a student to to receive an evaluated DARS report?
It takes 1-2 semesters before a transfer student will be "evaluated." Therefore, it could take 1-2 semesters before transfer work from other institutions will appear on a student's DARS report.

Students will know they have been evaluated when they receive their DARS report in the mail.  Advisors can tell if a student has been evaluated when the student's unofficial transcript reflects "Evaluated" near the transfer institution.

How come the DARS report does not show the substitutions I sent to the Evaluations Office for major requirements?
Any substitutions or exceptions made for an individual student will not appear in the DARS report.  For example, substitutions made in department memos sent to the Evaluations office will not reflect in the DARS report.

Exceptions approved by the Student Academic Petitions Committee for General Education requirements will also not appear in the DARS report.

All substitutions and exceptions are held in the student's electronic file in the Evaluations Office.  These memos and petitions will be reviewed when the student applies for graduation.
