Community Service and Nonprofit Internship Programs
The Community Service Scholarship Program began in the summer of 1990 when the Radin Foundation, led by Marjorie and H. Marcus Radin, provided funds to financially assist California State University, Fresno students who were placed with nonprofit agencies throughout the Fresno area. Due to the Radin’s generosity, the program continues today.
Assignments are structured to relate to the student’s academic major, and in order to provide enough time for a “real world” experience, each student performs assignments ranging from 75-150 hours with his or her assigned agency. Upon completion of their assignments, students earn 1-3 units of academic credit and a $750 or $1,500 scholarship.
Since the program’s inception, over 1,000 students have been placed in a wide variety of community assignments related to education, crime, youth programs, public health and the promotion of the arts. The program has provided thousands of hours of community service directly relating to the needs of the greater Fresno area!
To participate, the Community Service Scholarship Program invites 501c.3 nonprofit agencies, schools, or government organizations to provide either a whole $1,500 scholarship (plus a 5% gift assessment fee for a total of $1,580) or at least a half $750 scholarship (plus a 5% gift assessment fee for a total of $790) to guarantee a student. These 75-150 hour positions may be listed at any time during the year. Your agency will not be invoiced until a student is “hired” by your organization.
Your interest and participation in this valuable program is greatly appreciated.
