NEW STUDENT TUITION WAIVER SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, FRESNO offers Tuition Waiver Scholarships (usually between two to five units) to qualified students on non-immigrant visas who are new to the university (approximate value $732 to $1,830).  US permanent residents and US citizens are NOT eligible.  New Student Tuition Waiver Scholarships are available only for the first year and may be awarded for one semester or spread out over two semesters.

DUE DATES:  March 15 for fall semester; October 1 for spring semester

CRITERIA:  Evidence of strong scholarship, leadership qualities, willingness to represent your home country and school.  Enrollment as a regular university student in 10 units (undergraduates and graduate students), not including Extension classes, is required each semester you receive this scholarship. 

PROCEDURE:  Submit to the International Programs Office 1) this application form,  2) a personal Statement of Purpose, and 3) two letters of recommendation from people who can address how you meet the above criteria.  These two letters of recommendation are in addition to any other letters you might submit with your application for admission to the university.

You will also need to apply and be admitted to California State University, Fresno.  Submit the complete international admission application packet and the application fee of $55 to the International Admissions Office.

This scholarship application will be reviewed and a determination will be made based on your admission eligibility, letters of recommendation, and your personal statement of purpose.  If a scholarship is awarded, you will be notified via email.
