Welcome!

On behalf of the Southeast Asian Student body at Fresno State and University Outreach Services, we would like to especially welcome you to the Southeast Asian Educational Conference!  It is our intention is to provide awareness, as well as, motivate high school and college students to pursue higher education to become future leaders of California.

This year’s program provides a combination of exciting speakers and a wide array of workshops. The conference will also provide great opportunities for you to network with educators, business professionals, community organizations and leaders.

We hope to see you at this year's Southeast Asian Educational Leadership Conference.

Workshops for Students

Networking for Success

The presenter will address the importance and benefits of networking by joining clubs and/or organizations, participating in extracurricular activities, volunteering, etc. In addition, the presenter will address concept of "don't burn your bridges", professionalism, and connect classroom experience to that of the workforce.

Transfer 411 (Gear for Community College Student)

This session will provide participants with general transfer admission from a community college to a public four year college/university.

College 411 (Gear for High School Student)

This session will provide participants with general admission information to the Community College, California State University, and University of California. 

Scholarships and Financial Aid

This session will provide students with tips on how to obtain scholarships and financial aid for college.

Leadership Workshop 1

Accept/Decline Your Admission-Fresno State

Participants will be shown how to navigate their Fresno State Portal to accept or decline their admission to Fresno State.

How to Prepare for a Satisfying Career

This workshop will discuss the career development process which will help students understand who they are, what kind of careers are good for them, and what they need to do to prepare for the career they want.

Fresno State Campus and Library Tour

Participants will be given a tour of Fresno State and Fresno State’s renovate Henry Madden Library.

What is your learning style?

The presenter will go over the different learning style with participants and help participants identify their unique learning style. By knowing the different types of learning styles, participants can improve their self-advocacy skills and develop coping strategies for academic success.

 

Workshops for Parents

Scholarships and Financial Aid– Hmong

This session will be conducted in Hmong. The presenter will provide parents with tips on how to help their child obtain scholarships and financial aid.

College 411 (Gear for High School Student)-Hmong

This session will be conducted in Hmong. The presenter will provide parents with general information regarding admission to Community College, California State University, and University of California.
