Cross Cultural Celebration Week

Week of September 15
Various dates and locations throughout campus

Join various students, faculty and staff as we celebrate the rich tapestry of diversity at Fresno State!  Events include Madden Library exhibition, Independence of the Americas Bienvenida, International Coffee Hour, Cross Cultural Celebration Social and Mixer, and more!

Independence of the Americas Exhibit

September 15 – 19

Stop by the 2nd floor of the Henry Madden Library and check out the various artifacts displayed in recognition of the Independence of the Americas.

Blood and Marrow Registry Drive

Wednesday and Thursday, September 17 and 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at three campus bloodmobile locations:  University Student Union, Kremen Education Building, and Maple Mall at the end of the Rose Garden.

Emerging Leaders Retreat

Want to get involved on campus but not sure where to start? The Emerging Leaders Retreat has helped hundreds of students find their best fit! Build connections on campus and in the community while exploring leadership and having fun! Welcome Wednesday

Location: Maple Mall area, Outside Joyal Administration Bldg.

Join us for fun, food, friendship and a chance to finish all your last minute student tasks!  Representatives from various campus offices will be ready in one easily accessible location for you to purchase your parking pass permit and print your dashboard receipt, find and print your course schedule, take a tour to find your classrooms, take your ID photo, clarify any Financial Aid questions, pay your bill, buy your football tickets, and more! Enjoy free hamburger and hot dogs, entertainment and games while you're here! Free and open to all students.

Free shuttle service throughout the event from these local apartment locations:  Copper Beach, Palazzo, Castle Rock, University Village, Bulldog Village.  First shuttle pick up: 2:30 p.m., last shuttle depart Fresno State: 7:30 p.m.

For a complementary parking permit for this event, use parking permit code 621501 at any permit dispenser on campus. The code is only available on August 20th from 12 noon to 8pm.

Revitalize Fresno State Community Service Project

Time: 8 a.m.-12 p.m.

Make a difference for those in need while you make new friends at Fresno State! We’ll gather on-campus for continental breakfast and group introductions then travel by shuttle to Sierra Madre Neighborhood and El Dorado Park where you’ll distribute food to neighborhood residents. Following the service experience, we’ll shuttle back to campus and enjoy free lunch and fun at the Bulldog Pride tailgate.  Free and open to new students.

Strike while it’s hot and free! Today the University Student Union offers free bowling, billiards and Xbox gaming for Fresno State students. Come on in, cool off, shoot some pool and try out our new state-of-the-art bowling system. You can even take a selfie and blast it out to the scoring screens and your favorite social media sites. Free and open to all students.

Fresno State vs. USC Football Convoy

Location: Departing from circle drive in front of University High School

Hop on board a double-decker bus headed to USC to support our Bulldogs in their game against USC! This awesome package deal includes your game ticket, Fresno State Alumni tailgate meal and round-trip bus ticket.  Limited supply available, sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Community Service Opportunities Fair

The Fall Community Service Opportunities Fair, open to students, faculty and staff, will feature over 75 community and campus agencies sharing volunteer, internship, and job opportunities. Students are able to personally meet with representatives from local community benefit organizations to learn about volunteer opportunities that can assist in fulfilling service-learning requirements. A sampling of agencies that have participated in past events include: American Cancer Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Central CA Blood Center, Children's Hospital Central California, Fresno Fire Department, and Sierra Foothill Conservancy.

Cross Cultural Celebration

The Fresno State community celebrates the richness of culture and diversity at our campus!  Check out music, entertainment, USFC Greek organizations, free refreshments and food, and more!  Events include:

  • Cross Cultural Festival Music and Performance Previews 11 am – 1pm / USU Balcony.  Get a taste of the various cultural performances and activities slated later in the evening.
  • Desserts from Around the World 11 am – 1pm / USU Balcony.  Sample various refreshing desserts from various cultures – get your taste buds ready for delicious treats!
  • Cross Cultural Festival and USFC Social: 7 – 9 pm / Front of Bookstore.  The celebration continues into the evening with cultural performances and interactive activities, live DJ and an opportunity to meet all the Greeks within Fresno State’s Multi-Cultural Greek Council.  Feast on free food reflective of the diverse tastes of the campus.
