The name of this organization shall be the Association for Information Management (AIM) of California State University, Fresno. The purpose of this organization is to provide for the pursuit of knowledge in the areas of computer related information sciences. This organization is recognized by California State University, Fresno, and adheres to all regulations as set forth in the Handbook for Student Organizations and Use of Campus Facilities and Grounds.
Membership in this organization shall not be denied to any student of California State University, Fresno, on the basis ofrace, creed, religion, sex, political affiliation, physical handicap, or major.
Members of this organization must meet the following requirements:
Charter Member: Those who became members through paying dues in the Fall 1983 semester.
Good Standing Member:Those persons who pay the semester dues. Semester dues are $30 the first semester, and $25 thereafter.
President: Preside over all council and regular meetings; coordinate the executive committee, faculty, and the AIM organization.
Executive Vice President: Assume the President's role in the President's absence; work with the Vice-Presidents.
Secretary: Responsible for the records, correspondence, minutes of meetings, and related affairs of this organization.
Treasurer: Oversee all financial aspects of the organization; involved in the disbursement and receipt of club funds.
Director of Communications: Oversee all administrative activities, assists President in other activities.
Chief Information Officer:Be a leader in the disbursement of information regarding new and existing technologies.
Vice President of Finance, Professional Activities, Social Activities: Oversee committee functions under their direct control.
Web Master: Oversee and update any changes to the club website.
Member in good standing for at least one semester to be eligible for a position in the Executive Committee. A faculty member will serve as advisor to this organization as required by CSUF. Officers are elected once a year and elections are held during the Spring Semester. Elections shall take place at a regularly scheduled meeting of the organization at which a quorum (51% of the regular membership) is present. In the event an officer is unable to fulfill his/her term of office, he/she will be placed in the following manner: - Special election will be held to fill the vacated offices. All members in good standing shall be eligible to vote. In case of the replacement of the President, the Executive Vice President will become acting President, and a new Executive Vice President shall be elected. Officers may be recalled in the following manner: - A two-thirds vote of a quorum of the members in good standing.
Starting this Sring 2004 Semester, dues are $35 for alumni, new, & old members, and $25 thereafter. Membership dues are to be paid to any AIM Officer or to in the IS Department (PB 287). This organization has the ability to assess the membership. Assessments shall be determined by a quorum of the membership annually at a regularly scheduled meeting.
Meetings of this organization may be called by: The President The Executive Vice-President The President's designee The Executive Committee Regular meetings of the organization will be once a month. Business cannot be conducted unless a quorum of the membership is present. A quorum for this organization is defined as 50% of the members in good standing. This organization accepts the following as a set of Robert's Rules of Order. Any issue not directly spoken to in this document will be resolved by referring to the rules of order.
This constitution may be adopted, amended, revised, or revoked by a two-thirds vote of a quorum of the membership. A copy of any alteration to this document must be filed in the Students Activities Office. NOTE: This constitution was approved on November 9, 1983. Updated March 30, 2004.
