GENDER EQUITY PLAN TASK FORCE AT
CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, FRESNO
We’ve decided to use state-of-the-art technology to provide the supporters of Fresno State Athletics and other interested parties in California’s Central Valley with an update on the progress of the Gender Equity Plan Task Force (Task Force).
The Task Force was assembled in late summer to develop a new 5-year Gender Equity Plan in order to meet compliance requirements of the Office of Civil Rights and to be included in the university re-certification process with the NCAA. Once the plan is developed, it will be forwarded to the President, Athletics Director and other members of the President’s Cabinet for discussion, review and approval. The Task Force will then be released from service. The Gender & Minority Equity Subcommittee of the Athletic Advisory Council and the institution’s Title IX Coordinator will conduct the on-going monitoring of the Gender Equity Plan.
The time for submitting public comments on the Powerpoint presentation, Review and Findings of the Task Force as of November 20, 2007, has passed. In the interest of providing timely responses, the Task Force will be reviewing and categorizing all comments into the most frequently asked by the public. These responses will be posted on the website under FAQs page on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2007. Additional announcements will be made in the future on this website. Please visit it again.
