  • Fourth Best Public High School in the West according to NeighborhoodScout.com 
  • Governor's Fitness Challenge Grand Prize Winner and School of the Year Award.  UHS received $100,000 in Arcade Style Fitness Equipment.
  • UHS was visited by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. The Governor used our school as a platform to advocate for a resolution to the state budget crisis. The Governor visited the site of our new school building where he greeted students and staff.
  • Certified Charter School by the California Charter School Association
  • 45th best public high school in the nation, as ranked by U.S. News & World Report.
  • 10th best charter school in the nation, as ranked by U.S. News & World Report.
  • U.S. Academic Deathlon National Small School Champion (3rd consecutrive year)
