Use of Official Graphic Elements

University identification is based on the recognition and correct use of three graphic elements that are the foundation of a coordinated system of visual representation. At California State University, Fresno, these elements are:

  • the sunburst logo
  • the bronze medallion logo, and
  • the Bulldog athletic symbol.

Much of our identification is also transmitted through secondary elements such as:

  • the use of the traditional colors (cardinal red and blue);
  • standardized publication formats;
  • consistent type usage; and
  • other techniques that support a systematic and unified approach in the presentation of Fresno State to its various constituencies.

Each of these elements is discussed on the following pages.
