What is Upward Bound?
The Upward Bound Program at California State University, Fresno is designed for low-income, first-generation college bound high school students who have the potential to succeed in college, but whose high school grades and test scores do not reflect that potential. Funded by the United States Department of Education, Upward Bound provides assistance to students in acquiring the academic skill development and motivational support through teaching and counseling.
Who is Eligible?
Through our federal funding, seventy-nine (79) students from six area high schools have been selected for participation in Upward Bound. They include Edison, Fresno, Roosevelt, Sanger, Parlier, and Madera High Schools. We continuously recruit freshmen and sophomores from these schools. These students must be first-generation college bound and/or low income
