Dear Current and Prospective Women’s Studies Students,

It is our pleasure to welcome you to the Women’s Studies Program’s Faculty Advising Services at Fresno State, Fall 2009!  If you are pursuing or are interested in pursuing a degree in the Women’s Studies Program, then please come to see us as soon as possible this semester!

Students who have already declared, are in the process of declaring, or are thinking about declaring a primary major, double major, or minor in Women’s Studies are highly encouraged to meet with a Women’s Studies faculty Advisor.  Whether you are new to the Program or are one of our seasoned students, we encourage you to meet with an Advisor at least once a year to check your progress toward graduation and modify your plan if need be.

If you are new or are returning and have not met with an Advisor in a while, we encourage and request that you meet with an Advisor in the Program early this semester to create and/or confirm a comprehensive plan towards graduation.
To make an appointment with one of our Advisors, please contact the Women’s Studies Office by phone, 559.278.2858.
If you are new to Women's Studies Advising, then please set your appointments with either Dr. Kathryn Forbes or Dr. Roksana Badruddoja. Listed below are Dr. Forbes and Dr. Badruddoja’s contact information, office addresses, and advising hours for Fall 2009.

If Dr. Janet Slagter or Dr. Loretta Kensinger have been your Advisors in the past, then you are welcome to continue working with them.  The main office has their advising hours and contact information available (559.278.2858).

During your faculty Advisor meeting this semester, PLEASE BRING YOUR CURRENT DARS REPORT with you.  Once again, you are responsible to bring your DARS report to your advisement meeting.
