Activities: Take Back the Night

Take Back the Night Rally and March is an event that has been designed to bring awareness to ending violence against women. These events are generally held during October, which has been recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Take Back The Night Rallies began as a response to sexual assault, rape, domestic violence, and murder, and continue to be held all over the United States, Europe, Canada, Latin America, and India.

Take Back The Night at Fresno State is organized and sponsored mainly by Women’s Alliance.  The Women’s Resource Center and the Women’s Studies Program also take on many responsibilities in organizing this event.

Planning and Organizing Take Back The Night is a key factor in ensuring the success of this event. Past experience has shown that the sooner organizing begins for Take Back The Night, the better. In the past years other on and off campus organizations have helped make this night a success.

Take Back the Night 2009 took place October 14th. This was the 30th anniversary for Fresno State's Take Back the Night.
